Creating a Comic Book with AI
Comic books can be a great way to entertain and educate kids, and even generate passive income. However, creating a comic book from scratch can be a challenging task. Thankfully, there are AI tools available that can assist in creating comic characters and assembling comic panels. In this article, we will explore one such tool called Comic AI.
Getting Started
To get started with Comic AI, click on the "Start for Free" button on their website. Please note that Comic AI is currently only available for invited users. You can find the invitation code in the description.
After creating an account using your Google account, you will be directed to the Comic AI dashboard.
Creating Original Characters

In Comic AI, you have the option to create comic books in two different styles: derivatives mode and create original mode. For this tutorial, we will be using the create original mode.
Within the create original mode, you have two options: story mode and free creative mode. Let's explore both of these options.
Story Mode
If you don't have a story of your own, you can use AI tools like Chat GPT to generate a comic strip story. Simply provide a prompt like "Create a comic strip about two friends' adventure" to Chat GPT, and it will generate a comic story with panel suggestions. Copy the generated comic strip and paste it into Comic AI.
Alternatively, if you have your own story, you can upload it to Comic AI in TXT or PDF format.
After pasting or uploading your story, provide a title for your comic book and your name in the respective boxes. Then, click on the next button.
Comic AI will analyze your story and generate characters for you. You can customize these characters by changing the prompts. For example, you can change the hair color of a character. After customizing the characters, click on the next button.
In the next step, you will create the comic panels. Comic AI will provide panel suggestions based on your story. You can customize and generate the visuals by selecting characters, action references, and other details. Click on the generate button to create the panels.
Continue generating scenes for all the panels according to your story. Once you have created all the panels, click on the next button to proceed to the next step.
Free Creative Mode
In free creative mode, you have the freedom to create your own characters and panels without a pre-defined story. Simply provide the name of your comic book and your name, and click on the next button.
Comic AI will guide you through the character creation process using their chatbot. Answer the questions asked by the chatbot to create your character. You can also regenerate prompts if you're not satisfied with the initial results.
Once you have created your characters, you can proceed to create the panels by providing prompts and selecting action references. Click on the generate button to create the panels.
Final Touches
After creating all the panels, it's time to give the final touches to your comic book. Arrange the panels in a layout template that suits your scene. Add speech bubbles and dialogues to each panel. Adjust the font, size, and direction of the dialogues. Once you're satisfied with the layout and dialogues, click on the next button.
Finally, your comic book is ready to be downloaded. Click on the download button to save your comic book.
